He was born Feb. 7, 1918, in Huntington to Frederick A. and Pearl (Kalb) Holtz.

He is survived by one brother, Donald Holtz of Union, Mich.; and one sister, Rita Froelich of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Robert and Thomas Holtz; and three sisters, Dorothy Compton, Ann Holtz and Mary Louise Holtz.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, officiated by the Rev. Jacob Gall. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery.

Mr. Holtz had been a custodian at Elkhart Wood Products and at Boris Smoler. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and St. Jude Council 1049 of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling and the Chicago Cubs.
