ELKHART -- Leland J. "Jack" Adams, 77, of Elkhart, passed away at his home at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, as the result of an accident.
He was born in Truman, Ark., to the late Wiley T. and Mable (Mansfield) Adams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sue (Martin) Adams, and a daughter, Crystal Kay Feist.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie C. Adams of Elkhart; a brother, C. David (Neva) Adams of Paragould, Ark.; a sister, E. Jean (Jim) Pittman of McComb, Mich.; a nephew John O. (Glenda) Adams of Cookeville, Tenn.; his granddaughter, Kaylee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Grace Bible Church, 54230 C.R. 5, Elkhart. Pastor Mike Fisher will officiate. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family.
Jack was a landlord for more than 30 years and oversaw properties all over the Michiana area. He was also formerly a Baptist minister. A Christian and generous man, Jack enjoyed contributing to many of the various local ministries. Memorial donations may be made to Grace Bible Church.
