IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leeya Sharell
Robinson
August 27, 1982 – January 31, 2024
Ms. Leeya Sharell Robinson, 41, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Elkhart, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 8:00 pm following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 27, 1982 in Elkhart to the late Ollie Lee House Jr. and Denorris Y. (Robinson) Sprow of Elkhart, Leeya was the faithful and loving companion of Jermaine Lee who currently survives Leeya at home.
Along with her mother, Leeya is also survived by her daughter Tarajii G. Lewis of Ft. Wayne; sisters Dinita House-James of Indianapolis and Jacqueline Robinson of Elkhart; grandparents Eddie & Carolyn James of Elkhart and niece and nephews Majayla Robinson, Jashaun Robinson and Reginald House-James. She is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends and is preceded in death by her father and her grandparents Ollie Lee and Mattie Ree House.
A celebration of Leeya's life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12 noon at Greater Wayside Church of God in Christ, 638 Goshen Avenue, Elkhart, with a gathering of friends and family beginning there at 11am. Pastor Johnie Robinson, Leeya's uncle will officiate the services and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
Leeya worked most of her life in the medical field, and she was employed at Orthopedics, NE in Ft. Wayne at the time of her passing as a medical records technician. But most importantly, she was a dedicated mom, daughter, sister and good friend. She was definitely a people person, and her upbeat, bubbly attitude kept a smile on everyone's face. She of course loved to spend time with her family and friends, but also loved to listen to music, dance, distance walk, spend time on her work-out regimen and cook. She didn't really have any particular specialty, but she just loved to peruse through magazine and online articles that had new and interesting recipes and try them out, and she was not afraid to be experimental.
Finally, it should be mentioned that Leeya will be best remembered for her personal independence, self-sufficiency and her strong and stable character. She embraced these qualities and tried her best to instill them in her daughter. Nothing seemed to get Leeya down, and even in the face of a fearful illness; she met life head-on with grace, beauty and poise. She was a hard working mom, and her daughter had always been her main priority.
Those wishing to bless the family with a donation in memory of Leeya for her daughter Tarajii may do so by forwarding said donation to Leeya's mother, Denorris Sprow.
