ELKHART — Leanne J. (McFall) Brill, 56, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at her residence in Elkhart.
She was born Sept. 25, 1956, in Elkhart to Donald Ray and Wanetta (Fletcher) McFall. Leanne married Brent E. Brill Sept. 11, 1982. They later divorced in 2010, but remained close and caring for each other.
Surviving are her daughters, Alissa Brill and Jeff Hudak Jr. of Osceola and Lindsay Brill of Elkhart; her mother, Wanetta J. McFall of Elkhart; sisters Donetta "Dee" (Dan) Atkinson of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., Cinda (Terry) Belanger of Granger and Carla (Edward) Chester of Vandalia, Mich.; a brother Thomas R. (Teresa) McFall of Bloomington; former husband Brent E. Brill of Elkhart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her beloved father, Donald Ray McFall, preceded her in death in 2005.
Leanne retired after 17 years as a librarian at Mary Daly Elementary School. She was a 1975 graduate of Elkhart Central High School and was an avid Indy 500 fan. She loved to visit the ocean, watch fireworks, listen to music, and have legendary Halloween parties, which was one of her favorite holidays. Leanne was a loving mother, daughter and sister who touched many lives of those who knew her. Her beloved dachshund, Winnie Hope, will miss her too.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Funeral services celebrating Leann's life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to The Chiari Institute, 611 Northern Blvd., Suite 150, Great Neck, NY 11021; or City of Elkhart, Parks and Recreation Dept., for fireworks.
