OSCEOLA — Lavern Wiley, 51, of Osceola, passed away at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1960, to the late Gene Wiley and Jennie Ruth (Baskins) Wiley Lewis in Osceola, Ark.
Also preceding her in death were sister Carla Wiley and daughter Angie Ranessa Wiley.
Surviving are her sisters, Brenetta Jackson, Bernadetta (Mayfield) Timmons, Tracy Wiley, Ruby (David) Wiley-Fields and Ruthie Wiley, all of Elkhart, and Patricia Fleming of Muncie; and her brother, Lavarter Lewis of Elkhart.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, services at Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart. Burial will take place in Prairie Street Cemetery. Pastor James B. Williams, Jr. of Abundant Faith Family Ministries, South Bend, will officiate.
Laverne worked several years at Olive Garden, Elkhart restaurants and at Partners In Opportunities, South Bend.
She enjoyed watching movies, playing bingo, bowling, word search puzzles and swimming.
