ELKHART — LaVerne G. Leslie, 91, of Elkhart, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Chicago to William and Alice (Scharlow) Cox.
Survivors include three sons, William "Bill" (Mildred) Leslie of Riverside, Calif., Patrick (Shirley) Leslie of Elkhart and Ben Leslie of Elkhart; two daughters, Arlene Kurtz of Elkhart and Diane (Darl) Sult of Three Rivers, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben E. Leslie; daughter Sharon McKelvey; and two brothers, Jerry Cox and Lawrence Ryan.
LaVerne was the former owner and operator of Remember When Antiques in Mishawaka and more recently operated a booth at the Antique Mall on Cassopolis Street in Elkhart.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A graveside service will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery. Pastor James Chaffee will officiate.
