ELKHART — Laurette Joan Stewart, 85, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, in her residence.

She was born June 20, 1929, in Chicago, to Victor and Bernice (Bauman) Butler.

Surviving are her daughter, Charlene Gayle (Phillip) Beidelschies of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; one son, Jeffrey Bryan Stewart of Elkhart; one sister, Lois (Dean) Seehausen of Hammond; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis M. Stewart; and one granddaughter, Ruth Ann Beidelschies.

Laurette worked as a loving homemaker for several years.

The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, funeral service at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 3300 Mishawaka Road, Elkhart. Pastor Andrea Hickey will officiate. Interment will follow in Frame Cemetery.

Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
