EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Larry K. Sharp Sr., 77, of Edwardsburg, died Sunday, April 26, at Kindred Hospital in Mishawaka.
He was born Dec. 10, 1937, in Cass County, to Donald and Evelyn (Hall) Sharp.

In 1954, Larry married Dolores Reinoehl. She preceded him in death Aug. 19, 2004.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Janie Charlston of Edwardsburg; two sons, Larry Sharp Jr. of Cassopolis and Terry (Marsha) Sharp of Edwardsburg; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Mahlon Swigart.
Larry worked for the packing house in his early years and was also a farmer. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for Local 150 and enjoyed working for H.E Long in Edwardsburg after his retirement.
He was a Mason and a member of the Cass County Shriners. In 2009 Larry was named Shriner of the Year. You could usually find Larry in the gun "cage" at the twice-yearly Cass County turkey shoots. Larry was an avid gun collector, and he also acquired more than 100 cast-iron skillets through the years. He enjoyed gardening and participating in local tractor pulls.
Larry never knew a stranger and would always leave a smile on their face wherever he went. He was loved and will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sunday and the nurses and health care providers at Kindred Hospital for their compassionate care.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Shriners, 69185 Union Road, Union, MI 49130.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Shriners Club in Union. Interment will be in Kessington Cemetery in Union at a later date.
