Larry “Pocahontas” Ray Moore, 69, formerly of Hayti, MO, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Woodland Manor.

Larry was born on November 12, 1956 in Hayti, MO to the late, Eddie Luster Sr. and Hattie Moore.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jermael Moore; brother, Eddie Luster Jr; sister, Karen Moore and Uncle James Royal.

Larry is survived by his children, Brandon (Shonva) Jones, LaTavia Scott and Starr Moore; sisters, Linda Cannon, Marilyn Moore, Diana Lester, Rita Lester, Sweet Lester and Hilda Lester; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; Brandon’s mother, Annette Jones; LaTavia’s and Starr’s mother and former wife, LuWonie L. Scott and former wife, Clara Moore and a close host of family cousins, nieces and nephews.

Larry worked at Godfrey Marine and Honey RV. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed listening to music especially the blues. He was an avid University of Michigan football fan (Go Blue!).

Larry enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and good game of Spades.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Per the family’s request, Larry will be cremated.
