Larry Eugene Moore, 87, of Elkhart, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, May 23, 2025 at the home he built.

Larry was born in Elkhart, IN on January 4, 1938 to the late, Millard E. Moore and Pauline W. (Close) Moore. He married the love of his life, Sherry LaVon (Fruchey) Moore on  May 20, 1960 in Elkhart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Pauline; mother-in-law, Fern E. Fruchey; sisters, Sharon and Sue and beloved dog, Gizmo.

Larry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sherry; daughters, Traci Bickel and Shawn Moore, both of Elkhart; and adored grandson, Evan Lawrence Bickel of South Bend.

Larry graduated from Jimtown High School. Larry and  Sherry were both members of Dunlap United Methodist Church for more then 25 years. Larry sang in the church choir for many years.

Larry was a foreman at local RV manufacturing companies and retired from Coachmen.

Larry was a skilled organist. He also played steel guitar and drums. He and his musical friends played at local nursing homes after his retirement.

Larry was an animal lover and enjoyed being outside and tending to his garden. He appreciated antique cars.

Larry could be counted on to repair and build anything.  He believed that anything could be figured out when you put your mind to it.

Larry loved his country and believed in hard work and the "American Dream".  He had a great sense of humor and good spirit even during the most trying times. Larry was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Dunlap United Methodist Church, 23674 US Hwy 33, Elkhart, IN 46517 with Rev. Melissa Englehart officiating.

Friends may visit with the family 2 hours prior to the start of the service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Dunlap United Methodist Church, Center for Hospice, or Ribbon of Hope.
