ELKHART — Larry Antese Forrest, 48, of Elkhart, was found passed away in his car near Memorial High School Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013.
He was born July 17, 1965, in Omaha, Neb.
Survivors include two sons, Brandyn and Justyn Forrest, and daughter Jasmyn Forrest, all three living with their mother, Denise Feehrer of South Bend; two stepdaughters, Jennifer and Kylie Giger, stepson Dimitri Giger, Larry's wife, Joi, and grandson Brayden Smith, all at home in Elkhart; brother Daryl (Tammy) Simmons of South Bend; sister Linda (Emmanual) Forrest of Elkhart; stepbrother Daniel Chavis of San Diego; two nieces, Davena Vonner and Yolanda Vonner, both of Hinesville, Ga.; and two nephews, Miles Vonner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jonnathan Simmons of South Bend.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wyzella (Forrest) Simmons; grandmother Odessa Forrest; and a stepdaughter, Taylor Giger.
Larry was a graduate of Memorial High School in Elkhart.
Larry was most recently employed at Meijer and prior to that he worked for the Elkhart Community School Corp. Life Program for more than 12 years. Larry coached the boys basketball team at Westside Middle School for seven years.
Larry was the lead singer for the band Macpherson & Struts for several years. He enjoyed singing music, playing basketball and watching his beloved Tennessee Vols football and basketball teams.
The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the 3:30 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Grace Bible Church, 54230 C.R. 5, Elkhart. Pastor Mike Fisher and the Rev. Steven Barnes will officiate. Cremation will follow at Altera Cremation Services.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
