Obituary
OSCEOLA -- La-Veda Pearl Allen, 61, of Osceola, passed away at 5:43 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
She was born Nov. 3, 1949, in South Bend to Ben and La-Reta (Goodsell) Saba. She married John R. Allen in 1969 in Niles, Mich. He survives at home.
Also surviving are four daughters, La-Rena Medford, Daleena Williams and Lisa and Victoria Cox; as well as a son, Brandon Allen; a sister, Sunsee Wilmont; a brother, Clark (Tina) Hoover; and grandchildren Lareesa, Garrett and Grace Medford, Noah Allen, Ashten, Gavin and Taiden Williams and Keegan LaMonds.
There will be visitation for one hour prior to the celebration of La-Veda's life scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart. In accordance with La-Veda's wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to La-Veda's husband, John, to help with medical expenses.
