She was born in South Bend on Oct. 24, 1961 to the late James L. Rock and Murta (Gerard) Rock Currie, who survives. She married Roger D. Cooper on Nov. 2, 1979 in Mishawaka. He survives at home after 40 wonderful years together.

Kim's life will be celebrated at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart with a gathering of family and friends on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 4-6 pm. In accordance with Kim's wishes, no formal services will follow the visitation on Monday and cremation will take place.
Kim worked in the manufacturing industry for many years until the necessity for her to care for ill family members required her early retirement. She was a selfless individual and enjoyed being able to help people whenever she could. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. As her own health began to decline, Kim's times with her family became more and more dear to her. She lived every day to its fullest and made the best out of every situation.
Friends may give memorial donations to Southern Care Hospice and online condolences can be left here on the funeral home's website.
