ELKHART -- Kim Marie Dunleavy, 55, of the Cornerstone Apartments, was found dead Monday (Feb. 22, 2010) in her home.
She was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Chicago to Denis and M. Beverly (McGinley) Lawlor. Her father preceded her in death.
Ms. Dunleavy is survived by her mother of Elkhart; one brother, Denis Lawlor of Elkhart; and her special friend, Mr. Khamseuane "Sonny" Phongthisouk.
She graduated from Richard Dailey College, Chicago, and began working as an RN at Holy Cross Hospital and the old Cook County Hospital, both in Chicago. She also was employed by Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hubbard Hill Estates, both in Elkhart. She loved to read, and spend time with her friends and "adopted" family at the Cornerstone Apartments where she lived. She enjoyed playing with her dog, which recently passed away.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be at the Cornerstone Apartments at a later date. Private burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Chicago. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is assisting with arrangements.
