CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — Kevin A. Pontius Sr., 60, of Cassopolis, passed away Tuesday, July 7, at his residence.
He was born June 26, 1955, in Elkhart, Ind., to Donald R. and Mary F. (Jones) Pontius.
On Feb. 7, 1992, he married the late Brenda K. (Baker) Pontius in Cassopolis.
Survivors include two sons, Ben Wright and Kevin A. Pontius Jr., both of Edwardsburg; a daughter, Danielle (Ryan) Erb of White Pigeon; two brothers, R. James Pontius of Osceola, Ind., and Dennis (Zita) Pontius of Elkhart; a sister, Linda (Rex) Mellinger of Elkhart; a grandson, Dominick Pontius of Edwardsburg; an aunt, Hazel "Sandy" Templeton of Clayton, Calif.; eight nieces and nephews; and many cousins, including a special cousin, Bobby Pontius of Elkhart, whom did everything with Kevin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Kevin and his wife were self-employed in the lawn care business for more than 21 years prior to their retirement.
He enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and visiting various lighthouses in the Michiana area.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the 1 p.m. Friday, July 10, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Victor Burson will officiate. Interment will follow in Long Cemetery in White Pigeon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior's Project in memory of Kevin.
