Mr. Kevin J. Miller, 60, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital following a brief illness on Saturday, Mar. 18, 2017.
He was born June 25, 1956 in South Bend to the late Arlow and Julia (Salisbury) Miller, and later married Georgiana Morehouse on Oct. 28, 1978 in Goshen. She survives at home.
Also surviving is his daughter April (Samuel) Allen of Fairland, brothers Steve (Sherry) and Dennis Miller, both of Elkhart; sisters Faith (Keith) Navarro of Amboy, MN, Hope Kurtz of Ft. Wayne and Marti Mendoza of Muncie, and a grandson, Dalton Lee Allen. A brother, Brian Miller, precedes Kevin in death.
In accordance with his wishes, Kevin is to be cremated and buried during a private ceremony at Pleasant View Cemetery in Goshen. A celebration of life service will take place at the America Legion in Bristol post 143 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday March 25th. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Kevin worked at the Velcro plant in Bristol for many years until a disability required his early retirement. He was a America Legion SAL member. He was naturally altruistic, and enjoyed helping others and volunteering whenever he could. He was also a very talented artist, and enjoyed drawing Disney characters for his grandson Dalton Lee, for whom he was very affectionate. Kevin liked to bowl in his earlier years but more recently enjoyed visiting the casinos, singing karaoke and watching his best friend's horse race in harness racing. When he wasn't busy with anything else, he enjoyed doting over his loving wife Georgiana and working in his vegetable garden where he would give away more produce than he saved.
Memorial donations may be given to Kevin's wife, Georgiana, or to his Go Fund Me site https://www.gofundme.com/kevin-and-georgiana-miller-expenses
