Keven Scott
Hollar
Aug 4, 1959 — Jun 25, 2026
Mr. Keven Scott Hollar, 66, passed away peacefully in the comfort and familiarity of his own home on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:12 a.m. Although he faced health challenges for much of his life, Keven never allowed them to define him. Instead, he was known for his joyful spirit, kind heart, and genuine love for people. He lived a life filled with happiness, friendship, and gratitude, touching countless lives simply by being himself.
Keven was born in Elkhart on August 4, 1959, to the late Barbara (Hamilton) Hollar and Glen "DeVon" (Peggy) Hollar of Elkhart.
Along with his father and stepmother, Keven leaves behind his loving sister, Lisa K. Hales; his aunt and uncle, Judy and Phil Funkhouser of Osceola; cousins Mary K. Kordes and Ladena (David) Peay, both of Central City, Kentucky; as well as many extended family members, cherished friends, and the wonderful staff and residents of Hellenic Senior Living in Elkhart, who became an important part of his extended family.
In keeping with Keven's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and assistance of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart. At a later date, his family will accompany him to his final resting place near Central City, Kentucky. No public services are planned at this time.
Keven was a dedicated and dependable employee throughout his working years. Between his time at Sherwin-Williams and GSL Corporation, he faithfully worked for nearly fifty years. His employers and coworkers appreciated not only his strong work ethic, loyalty, and punctuality, but also the positive attitude and warm smile he brought with him each day.
While Keven lived with cognitive challenges for most of his life, those who knew him best would tell you that few people embraced life with more enthusiasm. His happiness was contagious, and his greatest joy came from being around others. He never met a stranger and genuinely loved talking with everyone he encountered. His cheerful outlook and gentle nature made him a friend to many.
One of the greatest blessings in Keven's life was becoming part of the Hellenic Senior Living community in Elkhart. Even before moving there, he looked forward to making it his home. Once settled, he flourished. He enthusiastically participated in activities, built lasting friendships, and found a true sense of belonging. Whether he was playing games, researching topics that interested him, or taking virtual trips on the computer, Keven embraced every opportunity to learn, laugh, and stay engaged.
Keven's interests reflected his adventurous and fun-loving personality. He loved amusement parks and roller coasters, enjoyed singing karaoke at the American Legion Post in Osceola, spending time shopping at area malls, and riding his dirt bike. He found joy in life's simple pleasures and greeted each day with optimism. His father often joked that Keven never had any gray hair because he simply didn't worry enough.
His faith was also an important part of his life. Keven enjoyed attending church whenever he could and faithfully considered it one of his personal missions to serve as his stepmother Peggy's devoted prayer warrior. His quiet faith, loving heart, and unwavering concern for those he loved were beautiful reflections of the person he was.
Keven's family extends their deepest gratitude to every member of the staff and community at Hellenic Senior Living. Your kindness, compassion, patience, and genuine love enriched Keven's life in immeasurable ways. Because of you, he experienced not only exceptional care but also friendship, purpose, laughter, and a place he truly called home. The family will forever be grateful for the joy you brought into his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Keven's memory to the Hellenic Senior Living Activities Department in Elkhart, so that future residents may continue to enjoy the same enriching experiences that meant so much to him.
Keven will be remembered not for the challenges he faced, but for the joy he shared. His life serves as a beautiful reminder that kindness, contentment, and a loving heart are among life's greatest gifts. He leaves behind countless smiles, treasured memories, and a legacy of simple happiness that will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew him.
