Growing up, Ken was a devout catholic, which shaped the course of his life, and the man his family and friends remember him as. He was a graduate of DeVry Technical College in Chicago and earned many technical degrees and certifications over the course of his professional career. During the Vietnam War, Ken worked for Westing House, in the Aerospace Division in Baltimore, Maryland. Following Westing House, Ken went on to work for GTE, where he retired after over 25 years of service as an IT and electronics technician. Even after retirement, Ken's admirable work ethic had him seek out a position at Skyline Corporation where he worked for another 10 years.

Ken was known as a kind and charitable man among his community. During the Christmas season, Ken volunteered his time as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army to collect donations. Ken received recognition from the Blood Bank of Northern Indiana for donating gallons of blood, helping to save countless lives. Ken was a member of the Moose Lodge for over forty years. He was a golf fanatic, where he played as a member at the Four Lakes Country Club. In his later years, Ken found solace in nature, where he often sat and watched the wildlife in the woods outside his home. Ken was a family man, who loved deeply and always provided for his loved ones. Passionate, loving, and charitable, Ken was an outstanding husband, father, and grandfather. Memorial donations may be given to Riley's Children Hospital of Indianapolis and the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
