ELKHART — Kenneth E. "Sonny" Miller, 74, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012.
He was born in Elkhart on Dec. 13, 1937, to the late Harvey and Dorothy (Rogers) Miller Sr. On Feb. 26, 1988, he married Retha A. Dolph Arnold in Elkhart. She survives at home.
Also surviving are two sons, three daughters, two sisters, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A son, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
In accordance with Sonny's wishes, cremation will take place. The family has planned a memorial celebration of Sonny's life at the Osolo Township Fire Department, 24936 Buddy St., Elkhart, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012, with friends gathering at 2 p.m.
Billings Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Sonny was an area school bus driver for many years as well as being a mechanic for the Elkhart Community School System. He later became a self-employed landscaper. He was a longtime friend and affiliate of the Osolo Township Fire Department.
Memorials may be given to the fire department.
