MISHAWAKA — Kenneth J. Duwelius, 91, of Mishawaka, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, of natural causes at Michiana Health and Rehabilitation in Mishawaka.

Kenneth was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Elkhart, to the late John and Mabel (Ness) Duwelius. He married Gizella Valentine Sturm on April 3, 1948, in Elkhart. Gizella passed Sept. 12, 2012.

Surviving are a daughter, Debra Duwelius of Mishawaka; a sister, Dorothy Duwelius of Adrian, Mich.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding Kenneth in death were a daughter, Jacquelyn Knight, and his twin sisters Ilene and Arlene.

Kenneth formerly worked for Adams and Westlake and proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

There will be no services. A private family burial will be Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart, with military honors by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard and DAV Chapter 19.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home.
