ELKHART — Richard Harold Coppler Sr., 83, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Riverside Village in Elkhart.
He was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Elkhart to Howard J. and Edith (Wambaugh) Coppler.
On Jan. 5, 1949, he married Virgie C. (Staub) Coppler in Elkhart. She survives at home.
Other survivors include two sons, Richard H. Coppler Jr. of Elkhart and Rictor James (Catherine) Coppler of Cape Coral, Fla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Sleeper, Helen Workman and Pauline Cramer; and one brother, Harry J. Coppler.
Richard was employed for 43 years with Whitehall Laboratories prior to his retirement in 1981.
After retirement, he enjoyed spending time fishing and being with his family and friends.
Interment of his cremated remains will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in Prairie Street Cemetery.
