Kenny Butts, 63, of Elkhart, IN was called home from labor to his reward on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on August 4, 1957 in South Bend to the late Evelyn (Anderson) Butts and Erskine Jenkins.
Kenny is also preceded in death by his loving girlfriend, Lynette Gadson, who passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, his stepfather, Emery Butts Sr.; sisters, Mary Ann Butts-Suggs and Barbara West; and brothers, Craig and David (Juella) Butts. He is survived by his brothers, Clifford (Debra) Clark, Emery Butts, Jr. and Elder Bennie (Annie) Butts all of South Bend, IN, and Michael Warnsley and David (Annette) Wayne Warnsley of Ft. Wayne, IN; sisters, Althea Hunt of Milwaukee, WI, Vickie (Eddie) Jackson of Tallahassee, Fl; Bernadette (DeMarco) Robinson of Elkhart, IN, Nora (Thomas) Bond of Indianapolis, IN and Sharon Gant of Ft. Wayne, IN; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
Per his family's request, a private memorial service will be held at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, Indiana with Rev. Barry C. Spencer, Pastor of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, South Bend, IN officiating. Cremation was chosen and will take place at the funeral home.
Kenny was a man with a very kind spirit and a giving heart. He always wore a smile on his face and enjoyed the company of his friends and family. Kenny loved music and was blessed with the most angelic singing voice. In his spare time, he loved playing dominos and a mean game of chess. Kenny was also an excellent cook who liked barbecuing for his friends and family.
