MR. KELSEY LEE DUES

Resting In Paradise.
Mr. Kelsey Lee Dues, 47, of Elkhart, passed on to be with his Lord on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 9:54 am at Elkhart General Hospital. Kelsey had been born disabled and had been ill nearly all his life. He was born on April 15, 1976 in Elkhart to Robert L. Smith of Elkhart and to Sherry Ann Dues Redd, who precedes Kelsey in death.
Kelsey graduated from Horizon Learning Center in May of 1994 and enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to the singing of the birds and eating. Especially eating, with fish sticks, tater tots and spaghetti being his favorites.
Along with his dad, Kelsey is survived by his grandma Gloria (Roy) Jackson; Aunt Mechiel (James) Young and Uncle Curtis Dues, all of Elkhart; siblings Rhonda and Robert Smith, both of Bloomington, and a host of loving extended family and good friends. Besides his mom, Kelsey is preceded in death by his twin brother Derrel Lee Dues, Grandfathers R. C. "Roy" Jackson and Elijah Smith and grandmother Thelma Smith.
Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart will be hosting Kelsey's Homegoing services on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 12 noon, with visitation beginning there one hour prior. The Reverend Eileen Thomas will officiate and burial will follow the services at Rice Cemetery.
Life is but a journey to find our way back home, but we are not created to journey home alone;
We are all connected, like the branches on a tree; I am part of you and you are part of me.
God has sent us Jesus to help us along the way, a friend and a companion so we don't go astray.
The Tree Of Life was planted in Eden long ago, and throughout the generations, God's love has made it grow!
The family wishes to thank all of those involved in Kelsey's care throughout his life. The continued support and loved shown to Kelsey and his family during this difficult time are cherished and appreciated, as everyone's kind words, acts and deeds will not be soon forgotten. A special thank you to Dr. Muhammad Raqeem and his staff as well. You all will remain in our prayers for quite some time.
