ELKHART – Keith H. Hostetler, 87, of Elkhart passed away Saturday, March 26, 2017 at 12:06 a.m. at his home in Elkhart. Keith was born April 28, 1929 in Nappanee to the late Paul and Marcella Hostetler. He married the former Doris E. Nickler on February 25, 1951 in Elkhart. They recently celebrated their 66th anniversary. Doris survives with three sons, Larry D. Hostetler of Elkhart, Brad A. (Karla) Hostetler of Farmland, and Brian S. (Kelly) Hostetler of Cicero. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Bradley (Stefanie) Hostetler of Franklin, Megan (Michael) Johnson of Granger, Matthew Hostetler of Carmel, Cameron Hostetler of South Bend, Kennedy Hostetler of Cicero, Zach Palmer and Mitch Sanders; four great grandchildren; Madyson, Mackenzie, Marissa and Willow. Also surviving is a brother Max; a sister Mary Stone, a brother-in law Arthur L (Barbara) Nickler and sister-in-law Jerry Hostetler. He was preceded in death by a sister Charlotte, her husband, Richard Shaffer; a brother Ned (Jerry); a sister-in-law Diane (Max) Hostetler and a brother-in-law Harold "Nick" Nickler. Keith was a 1948 graduate of Elkhart High School where he played baseball. He started working in the Engineering Department of NIBCO in Elkhart in 1948 and continued there for 43 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Creekside Church of the Brethren in Elkhart, Keith was an avid sports participant and fan, a longtime member, manager, coach and past president of Osolo Little League. He was also one of the founding members of the Elkhart Memorial High School Adult Booster Club. Keith enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always working on some project in his spare time. He spent his retirement years enjoying his grandchildrens' activities wherever they were. Visitation for Keith will be at Creekside Church of the Brethren, 60455 County Road 113, Elkhart, Ind. 46517 on Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 4-8 pm. A celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, also at Creekside Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery in Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Creekside Church of the Brethren.
