PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Kathy L. Warner, 53, of Port Charlotte and Jones, Mich., passed away at 1:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 26, 2011) at Port Charlotte Regional Medical Center from natural causes.
She was born Feb. 27, 1957, in Manchester, Tenn., to Elmer R. "Arkie" and Wanda J. (Franklin) Floyd. She married Stanley T. "Stan" Warner on Aug. 22, 1976, in Elkhart. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tyannya V. (Rodney) Anglemyer of Jones and Christina M. (Derek) Ringer of South Bend; a son, Shawn T. Warner of Jones; three brothers, Dalen (Denise) Floyd of Phoenix, Ariz., Gary (Beth) Floyd of Elkhart and Terry Floyd of Bristol; her mother, Wanda J. Floyd of Fort Myers; and her first granddaughter, Ava Ringer, born Feb. 2, 2011. She was preceded by her father and a sister, Patricia Floyd.
Friends and family are invited to Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, for a celebration of Kathy's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011. A funeral will be at noon Friday, March 4, 2011, at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior. B.J. Bishop, pastor of Elkhart Church of God, will officiate. Burial will follow at Poe Cemetery, Jones.
For more than 17 years, Kathy and her family owned and operated Camelot Campgrounds of Jones, a local business still operated today by her eldest daughter, Ty.
A life-long survivor of polio, Kathy's undaunting spirit and attitude proved that even with a disability, all things are possible for those with faith.
