CASSOPOLIS -- Kathy Diane Wade, 50, of Cassopolis, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday (Sept. 8, 2008) in Elkhart General Hospital after a year-long battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 14, 1958, in South Bend to Billy Ray and Beverly (Enders) Bratcher. On June 26, 2004, she married Kelly R. Wade in Union.
He survives along with one son, Shane Watts of Elkhart; two daughters, Charity L. Atkins of Elkhart, Ind., and Crystal Wade of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; her mother of Elkhart; and one brother, Larry A. (Nola) Hartman of Osceola.
She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Diane Kay Kraus.
Mrs. Wade was assistant plant manager at Superior Seating, Elkhart, for the past six years until her health declined. Along with her husband, she owned K&K Karaoke and played at area lounges and parties.
Mrs. Wade was a 1976 graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School and an avid NASCAR fan; Dale Earnhardt Jr. was her favorite driver. She enjoyed playing pool and being with her friends and family.
Friends may call two hours prior to the 1 p.m. Friday celebration of life service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Jeff Reese of Hope United Methodist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
