ELKHART -- Kathryn L. "Kay" DelMastro, 91, residing in Elkhart, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 1, 2011, at her residence.
Kay was born May 26, 1920, in Berwyn, Ill., to the late Joseph and Mary (Jeffrey) Houillon. She married Philip D. DelMastro on July 8, 1943, in Chicago. He died Dec. 8, 2002, in Elkhart.
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth DelMastro and his wife, Deborah, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Wayne J. DelMastro of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Marissa DelMastro, David Cox and Heather Keil; and two great-grandsons, Gavin and Hudson. Her dear friends, Jim and Mary Keil, Sue Johnson and Father Bill and her loving friends from St. Thomas survive as well.
In addition to her husband and parents, Kay was preceded in death by a son, Philip DelMastro, and a daughter, Phyllis Keil; and sisters Mary Corbin, Florence Jana and Dorothy Corbin.
Kay was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend. She retired in 1982 as a bookkeeper for her husband's company, Tel-Tech. Kay was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends at the lake.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A procession will then depart the funeral home for the noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., Elkhart. The Rev. Bill Sullivan will officiate. Private family burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Worth, Ill.
