BURNHAM, Ill. — Kathryn M. "Katie" Havekost, 35, of Burnham, passed away Tuesday, March 24, at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 25, 1980, in Goshen, Ind., to Thomas H. and Mary L. (Jones) Havekost.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Tom (Janet) Havekost of Granger, Ind.; one sister, Sarah (Kevin) Holly of Watertown, N.Y.; one brother, Michael H. Havekost of Granger; two stepbrothers, Scott Schroeder of Granger and Zachary Schroeder; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Howard and Gertrude Havekost, and her maternal grandparents, Earl and Lois Jones.
The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, celebration of life service at Faith Lutheran Church, 406 S. Fifth St., Goshen. The Rev. Ted Stanley will officiate.
