Obituary
BRISTOL — Kathleen J. "Kathy" Brown, 55, of Bristol, passed away early Monday morning, July 14, in her residence.
Kathy was born on April 2, 1959, in South Bend to John and Lucy (Iavagnilio) Scott.
She married Jeffery Brown on May 13, 1995, in Bristol. Jeffery died Sept. 2, 2006.
In addition to Jeffrey, her father, John Scott, preceded her in death.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Johna (Lucas) Miller of Goshen; grandchildren Kylie, Allyson and Bryce Miller, at home; mother Lucy Scott of Bristol; sisters Deb Lytell and Joann (Jim) Williams, both of Bristol; three nieces; four nephews; one great-niece; and four great-nephews.
Kathy was working as a customer service representative at Artisan Interiors in Middlebury for close to 10 years. She was a 1977 graduate of Elkhart Central High School and a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Bristol and the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Association).
Kathy loved being outdoors, tubing on the St. Joe River and camping at Nibbyville. But most of all, she loved to spend time with her daughter, three beautiful grandchildren, family and friends.
Friends may call for an hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service celebrating Kathy's life, on Friday, July 18, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Father Robert Van Kempen of St. Mary's will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
Memorials may be given to Riley Children's Hospital Foundation or the JDRF in Kathy's memory.
