ELKHART - Kathleen Anita "Kay" DeLanater, 92 of Elkhart, passed away May 29, 2017 at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kathleen was born August 6, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Elmer and Evelyn Bucklin. She married the late Richard C. Delanater on Jan 24, 1953. Kathleen retired from the Elkhart County clerk's office after 25 years. Kathleen was a member of Winding Waters Brethren Church for 20 years. Kathleen is survived by her son John M. Bane, Jr. (Emily Maxwell) of Chapel Hill, NC and daughter Barbara Wolf of Elkhart. Kathleen has nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and nephew David Bucklin. Kathleen is preceded in death by her daughter Beverley Bane. A celebration of life will be conducted by Chaplain Ann Mitchell on July 12, 2017, 4:00 pm at Billings Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on July 12, 2017 from 2–4 pm.  Private Burial will be at Mt Ever Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI. on July 13, 2017. Arrangements are in the care of Billings Funeral Home.
