ELKHART -- Karl Nelson Ramza, 47, of Elkhart died at 2:24 a.m. Monday (March 9, 2009) in the home of his son where he was convalescing.
He was born May 21, 1961, in Elkhart to Paul and Evanell (Coley) Ramza.
He is survived by his son, Mathew N. (Karen S. Wagner) Carroll; three grandchildren; his longtime companion, Cindy A. Carroll of Goshen; and four siblings, James Ramza of Goshen, Thomas E. Ramza of Goshen and Debra Ferguson and Paula Ramza, both of Gaylesville, Ala.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Ramza worked as a production laborer in the RV industry in the Elkhart County area for more than 20 years. He worked at Monaco Coach, Wakarusa, for three years until his health required his early retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he loved camping at Camp Bellow-Wood in Michigan, trout fishing, maintaining a vegetable garden in his backyard, listening to classic rock music, watching Alabma State University football and spending time with his family.
Friends may meet at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, where a procession will travel to Prairie Street Cemetery. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Chaplain Shawn Gerber of Goshen General Hospital officiating.
