Karen was an independent, feisty, and kind woman. She worked as a Sunday school teacher for several years and was a daycare provider for Grace Brethren Church as well. Karen was a fantastic teacher and had a talent for helping children understand the world around them as well as draw them closer to the Lord. Teaching was her ministry, and her children often helped her in the classroom during their summer breaks.
In her spare time, Karen enjoyed watching her westerns. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and made sure others around her were doing their best to continue on the right path. Family meant the most to Karen and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. However, her love for her family expanded beyond that as she found comfort in caring for many of the homeless people in her community. Karen took the bible verse Matthew 25:40 to heart: "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
Karen will be dearly missed by her loving family and by all the people she impacted with her kindness and warm heart.
