Ms. Karen Sue Anderson, 76, of Bristol, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11:35 am following heart-related complications. She was born in South Bend on May 4, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Leonard) Markey.

Surviving are her daughters Lori (Raul) Santana of Bristol and Amy Rodriguez of Goshen; Brother Raymond (Donna) Markey of Rosarita, BC (Baja, CA); brother-in-law Larry Janz of Elkhart, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A sister, Sue Markey Janz, precedes Karen in death.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation is to take place and a celebration of Karen's life will be held at her home on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 3-5 pm by members of her family. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting with the arrangements.

Karen worked as a medical transcriptionist at several area clinics over the years. She was a member of the Broadway Christian Parish and the United Methodist Church of South Bend, and also belonged to the United Methodist Women, where she busied herself with all types of volunteer social work including working in the church's food pantry. She was also very social and enjoyed spending time with family and friends whenever she could. She was an avid card enthusiast and enjoyed beating her friends and family at Bridge and Pinochle whenever she could!
