ELKHART - Junior Lee Ruffner, 80, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at East Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Junior was born on May 16, 1938 in Elkhart. He married Jean Jernigan on December 31, 1976; Jean passed away on December 6, 2016. Surviving are a step-daughter Deborah Smith of White Pigeon, MI and step-son Robert (Chris) Jernigan of Florida; a daughter, Janet Lynn Ruffner/Leach as well as several grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons Tim Ruffner and Robert Lee Hiner and a daughter Tina Smith.

Junior formerly worked at Dexter Axle for many years and also Bock Industries. He loved old cars and had a 1966 Pontiac GTO he was very proud of.  He also enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Graveside services for Junior are scheduled for 2:00 pm. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Rice Cemetery. Jim Taylor, a family friend will officiate.

Arrangements for Junior are under the care of Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
