GOSHEN -- Julia Ann Hurley, 83, of Goshen, formerly of Elkhart, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at 9:25 a.m. at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo., to Robert L. and Julia (O'Reilly) Schuppe. She married Dr. James W. Hurley on May 5, 1951, in St. Louis. He passed away Aug. 6, 2004, in Goshen.
Surviving are sons Patrick (Charlotte) Hurley of Goshen, Robert Hurley of Los Angeles, Calif., and John (Nannette) Hurley of Brighton, Mich.; daughters Janet Parks of Decatur, Ala., and Ann (Ken) Thorn of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother Robert Schuppe.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1114 S. Main St., Elkhart, with the Rev. Kevin Bauman officiating. Per her wishes, cremation will follow Mass .
Julia was a homemaker and member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
