Judith "Judy" Elaine Amiss, 81, of Granger, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Judy was born on February 24, 1944 in Elkhart, IN to the late, Robert D. and Josephine "Jo" E. (Wirt) Bowlby. Judy was married to the late, Harold "Jack" Amiss on July 19, 1966. He passed away on September 2, 2023.

She is preceded in death by daughter, Lori O'Dowd; granddaughter, Amanda LaGrand, brother-in-law, Phillip Amiss.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Mateiver of Granger, IN and Teri (Mike Sprinkle) Hairston of Pendleton, IN; grandchildren, Lindzi O'Dowd, Christina Meteiver, Tony (Angela) Meteiver, Gage Back (Natalie Barker), Kenneth Meteiver, Phil (Amber) Meteiver; great grandchildren, Beau Stopyak, Chase Stopyak, Lilly Meteiver, Noah Meteiver, Leah Meteiver, Salis Meteiver, Vanille Meteiver, Booker Meteiver, and Olivia Hernandez; great grandson, Keymarri Brown; and brother, Robert (Pamela) Bowlby of Elkhart.

Judy lived in Elkhart her whole life. She worked at Golden Rule Printing Press, Martins Grocery store and also cleaned homes.

Judy was an avid reader, especially romance and mystery novels. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics. Judy was an accomplished Uno card player who always found a way to win.

She listened to all music and was a big Elvis fan, going to his concerts and collecting his memorabilia throughout the years.

Most of all, Judy took care of her family and was always there for them. She may have been stubborn at times but it was always out of love. Judy had a big heart and she will be greatly missed.

There will be no services at this time. Per the family's request, Judy will be cremated and scattered at a later date.
