ELKHART -- Judith Ann "Judy" Crowe, 70, residing in Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 1, 2010) at Elkhart General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born July 14, 1940, in Evansville to the late Alex "Gilbert" and Sadie Elizabeth (Paschal) Jessup. She married Robert Louis Crowe on March 29, 1959, in Shawneetown, Ill. He passed away on April 9, 1997, in Evansville.
Surviving are her two sons, Richard and William Crowe of Elkhart; her daughter, Julie (David) Calkins of Catlin, Ill.; brothers, Larry (Kay) Jessup of Cincinnati and Richard "Ric" (Donna) Jessup of Evansville; and a sister, Sandy (Ralph) DeVillez of Indianapolis.
Judy was a homemaker, poet, artist and a "Mom" to the world. She was a longtime and very active member of Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was involved in the senior citizen class. Judy enjoyed writing poetry and was an accomplished artist.
Join with her family and friends as we celebrate and honor her life at 6 p.m. Sunday, with calling starting at 5 p.m. at Grace Bible Church, 54230 C.R. 5, Elkhart. Pastor Mike Fisher will officiate, with graveside services and burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Park in Evansville.
