Judith "Judy" Ann Nine, 82, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Elkhart on October 4, 1940, to the late John and Pauline (McLaughlin) Ellsworth.

Judy was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Douglas "Doug" L. Nine; brothers, Robert Ellsworth, John Ellsworth, Jr, and Donald Ellsworth; and sisters, Mary Companion, Ann Pappas, Linda Burger, Loretta Roose, and Colleen Kittredge. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Jo (Tom) Eash; granddaughter, Amanda Jo Eash; two great grandsons, Chase and Khole Potter; brother, Harold Ellsworth; and sisters, Joann Besinger and Betty "Jo" (Richard) Moore.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Doug, immediately following the service at Prairie Street Cemetery. Donations may be given to Pet Refuge, Inc., 4626 S Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN 46614.

Judy was a kind and caring woman with a witty sense of humor. She enjoyed life to the fullest with a smile that could light up a room and loved to fill her house with laughter. Judy worked as a bartender at Franklin Street Tavern for several years and was a member of the Ladies DAV Auxiliary where she played a mean game of euchre.

Judy was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed having get-togethers at her house. She was a good listener and listened closely to what you had to say before giving you thoughtful advice. Judy was an animal lover through and through with cats being her favorite companions. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.
