ELKHART -- Juanita E. Zong, 81, of Elkhart, died at 4 p.m. Monday (Oct. 5, 2009) in her home.

She was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Elkhart to James and Eva (Lytel) Baker. On March 21, 1948, she married Robert J. Zong in Elkhart. He died May 23, 1978.

She is survived by one son, Walter "Jeep" Zong of Elkhart; three daughters, Gail Wilcox and Cindy Calahan, both of Elkhart, and Cheryl Stoner of Goshen; one sister, Marilyn ("O.J.") Pippenger of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Ms. Zong worked as an assembler at CTS Corp. for many years and was a former operator for General Telephone Co. She enjoyed bingo and bird watching. She had attended Concord High School.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to Friday's 10 a.m. funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Dale Turner will officiate. A graveside service and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
