Obituary

ELKHART — Joyce Elaine Taylor, 84, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 16, at Greenleaf Health Care Campus after an extended illness.

She was born, in Elkhart, Jan. 5, 1932, to Herbert W. and Dorothy L. (Nash) Rodewald.

She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1949. After graduation she was employed by Drakes Department Store in Elkhart.

On Feb. 2, 1952, in Lake Hurst, N.J., she married James Stewart Taylor and moved with him to the Phillipines where he was stationed during the Korean Conflict. After returning to the United States, she was employed by CTS Corp., working in the cost accounting department for several years before starting a family.

Survivors include her son, Todd (Tamra) Taylor of Middlebury; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Nicholas and Samuel also of Middlebury; sister-in-law, Judy (Frank) Tucker of Elkhart; two brothers, Paul Rodewald of Illinois and Tom (Ellen) Rodewald of Elkhart; sister Ruth Ann (William) Owen of Elkhart; and two daughters, Leslie Taylor and Jan (Larry) Starr.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place and inurnment will follow in Rice Cemetery.

Billing Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Middlebury in memory of Joyce.
