EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Joyce F. Huguley, 81, of Edwardsburg, passed away peacefully of natural causes July 30, 2013, at 2:42 a.m. at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
She was born in Columbus, Ga., on May 1, 1932, to the late Hosie "Doc" and Oveta K. (Pate) Farmer.
She married Roy R. Huguley on June 18, 1950, in Columbus. He passed away in 2008.
Surviving are her daughters, Oveta Kaye (Eric) Lantz of Houston, Winnee (Robert) Dalton of Tellico Plains, Tenn., and Brenda Huff and Diane Wimmer, both of Edwardsburg; her son, Tony (Nita) Huguley of White Pigeon; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
A memorial celebration of Joyce's life will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Kessington Community Church, 70200 Kessington Road, Edwardsburg. Pastor Steve Steele will officiate. In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation has taken place.
Joyce was a legal secretary for more than 50 years, with Fullbright & Jaworski of Houston being the last firm she worked for. She was a member of Kessington Community Church and was a devout "born-again" Christian who cherished the thought of some day reuniting with her husband, Roy, in The Great Hereafter.
