ELKHART — Joyce Lucille Gibson, 84, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018.

She was born May 7, 1934, in Olney, Illinois, to George and Zelda (Sly) Boatman. She married Hatcher Gibson on Oct. 20, 1990, in Elkhart.

Joyce loved crosswords, puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Vicky Lee Ellsworth; son, Raymond Leroy Ellsworth; sister, Dolores Farrar; and five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Lonnie Gibson; granddaughter, Jodi Lynn Gibson; and her sister, Nancy Landesman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart with a viewing starting at noon and a graveside service following the service at Carleton Cemetery in Elkhart.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
