Joy Lynn Bell, 57, of Elkhart, passed away after a long illness on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Joy was born on October 12, 1962 in Cincinnati, OH to Joseph Gilman and Patricia (Cunningham) Rotella. She married Rabon "Ray" Bell on June 17, 2000.

Joy is survived by her loving husband, Ray; daughter, Kari Mueller; son, Dakota Bell; grandchildren, Austin and Tami, all of Elkhart; parents Joseph (Sharon) Gilman of Texas and Patricia (Joseph) Rotella of Ohio; brother, Jim (Dee Dee) Gilman of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Jill (Bill) Ford of Cincinnati, OH; several nieces and nephews and her dogs, Chloe, Miley and Peanut.

Joy was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Elkhart County Jail, Madison Center in South Bend and Elkhart, and Oaklawn in Goshen. She was an avid "Life Time Movie fan. She enjoyed solving puzzles and playing "Fishdom" on her phone. Joy loved riding on the back of Ray's motorcycle and going on trips when she got the chance. Most of all, she loved her family especially her grandkids and great grandbabies (the dogs).

Joy was a determined and strong-willed person and her family will deeply miss her.

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Joy will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.  The Beacon Group Nursing Honor Guard will be presenting at 5:30 pm.

According to Elkhart County ordinances, facial masks and coverings are required when entering the building and a maximum of 50 people will be allowed in at once. Please follow social distancing procedures. Thank you.
