Joseph "Joe" R. Adkins, 73, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Joe was born on February 21, 1948 in Belle, West Virginia to Grace (Blake) and Roy Adkins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Joe is survived by his children, Christine (Brett) Hoover of Buckeye, AZ; Joseph E. (Sam) Adkins of Elkhart; Daniel R. Adkins (Hilary Pairitz) of Mishawaka; and Matthew D. (Rosemary) Adkins of Beech Grove, IN; granddaughters, Madeline, Sloan and Anabelle; brothers, David Adkins, Paul Adkins; sister, Sue Gibson.

Joe was employed with many local manufacturing companies throughout his career. He was recently a resident of Golden Living Center in Elkhart. Joe enjoyed the outdoors and classic Country and Rock & Roll music.

Joe will be remembered by his kind blue eyes, warm smile, and his resemblance to Clint Eastwood.

The family is having a  private gathering and memorial service. Per the family's wishes, he will be cremated. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN is assisting the family.
