Joseph Richard "Joe" Plank, 79, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at his home. He was born on July 6, 1944, in Elkhart, to the late Theodore "Ted" and Naomi (Hamlin) Plank. In October of 1980, he married the love of his life, Sandy Dentino, in Saugatuck, MI.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandy Plank; niece, Leslie; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Plank; and beloved puppy dogs, Snickers and Pebbles.

In accordance with Joe's wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services have been scheduled at this time. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

Joe worked for Schwartz Electric for many years as an electrician and was a proud member of the IBEW Post 153 in South Bend.

In his spare time, Joe adored being out on the water boating in St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, MI, with Sandy. He also liked to travel to Saugatuck and Charlevoix, MI, where his family was from, and to the beautiful state of Maine. Finally, he could be found some days at the Edwardsburg Conservation Club where he enjoyed participating in many outdoor activities.

Joe will best be remembered as a loving husband, uncle, and friend who lived a fairly quiet life. He enjoyed making many memories with his loved ones and was always said to be a really nice guy. He, along with all the love and joy he shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts he touched throughout his life.
