Jose G. Aguilar, 37 of Elkhart, Indiana, died on early Monday, August 22, 2011 as a result of a fire at his home. He was born on June 1, 1974 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Jose G. and Dionicia (Vasquez) Aguilar. He is survived by his wife; Maria Aguilar, daughters; Jasmine and Samantha Aguilar, his mother Dionicia Vasquez-De Aguilar of Mexico, 5 brothers, 6 sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jose G. Aguilar.
Jose worked at Mor/ryde as a fork lift operator and in shipping and receiving; he also worked part-time as a prep cook at Hacienda Mexican Restaurants for many years. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and liked to attend concerts, go dancing with his wife, and was a fan of Mexican Ranchero music. Jose enjoyed cook outs, baseball and spending time with his family.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 3-8 pm at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church 1108 S. Main St. Elkhart. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Father Glenn Kohrman officiating. Cremation will follow the Mass.
Memorials may be given to any Chase Bank Branch for his wife Maria Aguilar. Billings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
