Obituary
ELKHART — Jorge Luis Ortiz Sr., 70, of Elkhart, passed away at Golden Living Center following an apparent sudden illness Monday, Nov. 21.
He was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Nov. 7, 1946, to the late Urbiano and Isabel (Benitez) Ortiz.
Surviving are his children, Jorge, Jr. of Michigan City, Anthony "Tony" Ortiz of Buchanan, Mich., and Loida Ortiz of Queens, N.Y.; sisters Nilda Marerro, Gladys Colorado, Carmen Collazo and Tita Esperra; brother Jose Ortiz; and 13 grandchildren.
A private family visitation will be at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart, followed by cremation in accordance with family wishes.
Jose was a self-employed landscaper.
Memorial donations may be given to the family.
