June 7, 1965 - June 29, 2010

ELKHART -- Jonathan Ray Roberts, 45, of Elkhart, died at 1:11 a.m. Tuesday (June 29, 2010) from a gunshot wound during an apparent homicide.

He was born June 7, 1965, in Union City, to Clyde T. and June O. (Bonham) Roberts.

He was a 1983 graduate of Concord High School. He later served in the U.S. Air Force during the United States invasion of Panama. He was previously employed at Crown Audio Inc. as an electronics technician.

Survivors include his father, Clyde T. Roberts of Elkhart; brother Thomas Roberts of South Bend; and sister Angela (Mark) Ragland of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by his mother, June O. Roberts.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday (July 6, 2010) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday (July 7, 2010) at New Life Christian Center, 15685 S.R. 120, Bristol. Pastor Dwight Gosser of New Life Christian Center will officiate. Interment will follow in Marion National Cemetery, where graveside military honors will be rendered.
