Jon E. Hicks, 59, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 22, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. Jon was born on August 20, 1961 in Rantoul, Illinois, to the late Bruce L. Hicks Jr. and Maribeth (Daniels) Hicks.

Jon married Valerie J. (Kurtz) Neal; Valerie survives, as well as 3 children, Matthew Kramer, Amy (Daniel Martinez) Neal, Kaitlin Neal and fiancé Erik Cuaulte; 3 grandsons, a granddaughter due in July; and his sister Nancy (Mark) Wilson.

Jon worked for the City of Elkhart for close to 25 years with the cemetery department. Jon graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School and attended John Hopkins University in Baltimore as well as Holy Cross College on the University of Notre Dame campus.  He was an avid bicyclist and liked to participate in long distance rides and loved to watch the Tour de France.  Jon was also an avid reader, he and Valerie enjoyed going to Chicago to the plays and theatre productions. He enjoyed cooking and their pets.
