ELKHART — Johnnie J. "Dank" Wilson, 61, of Elkhart, passed away from natural causes at Warsaw Meadows Care Center in Warsaw at 4:35 p.m. Saturday, March 8.
He was born in Flat Lake, Ark., on April 16, 1952, to the late L.W. Sr. and Flossie (Henderson) Wilson.
He married Bobbie Jean Jones on Nov. 11, 1977, in Elkhart, where she survives.
Also surviving are his son, Christopher Wilson, brothers Lee, David (Maritta), L.W. Jr. (Lisa), Billy, Freddie and Tommy Wilson and sister Lossie Woodward, all of Elkhart. A granddaughter, Sha'kaylie Weaver, also survives in Baton Rouge, La.
In accordance with the family's wishes, Dank's body is to be cremated and a memorial service will follow at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
